Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has called for urgent answers to outstanding parliamentary questions following the absence of the Minister for Government Communication.

Addressing the House on Tuesday, December 17, Annoh-Dompreh expressed concern that several important matters remain unresolved and require the minister’s direct engagement. He stressed that Parliament must uphold its accountability role, particularly on issues already formally raised by members.

While acknowledging proposals to continue with scheduled parliamentary business, he cautioned against doing so without first addressing pending questions. He highlighted key concerns, including deliberations on the Bank of Ghana Bill and a statement by the Minister for Foreign Affairs regarding items allegedly shipped to Jamaica.

The Minority Chief Whip urged parliamentary leadership to clarify the business slated for the next sitting and to ensure that arrangements are made for the Minister for Government Communication to appear before the House to respond to the outstanding matters.

According to Annoh-Dompreh, clear and timely responses are essential for Parliament to effectively perform its oversight function and to keep the public accurately informed.
