The funeral arrangements for the late Highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, have been announced.

According to the family, the final funeral rites will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

Thousands of fans, music lovers, dignitaries, and industry players are expected to gather to celebrate the life and legacy of the man whose songs defined generations.

Daddy Lumba died on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the age of 60.

He was widely celebrated for his unmatched contribution to Ghanaian Highlife music.

In announcing his demise, the Fosu family described him as “a cultural icon whose music touched countless lives.”

“Daddy Lumba was more than a musician; his soulful voice provided the soundtrack to our love stories, and his lyrics captured the poetry of our struggles, dreams, and resilience,” the family added.

They further appealed for privacy as they continue to mourn their loss.

His death sparked an outpouring of tributes across the country, with many describing him as one of the greatest voices in Ghana’s musical history.
