The Electricity Company of Ghana has announced a series of scheduled eight-hour power outages across multiple regions today, July 30, to facilitate critical network upgrades and routine maintenance operations.

The temporary power cuts, running primarily between nine in the morning and five in the afternoon, affect several major urban centers, commercial zones, and residential enclaves across the country.

In the Greater Accra and Tema operating areas, affected locations include New Bortianor, Tantra Hills, Mile Seven Market, Pig Farm, Newtown, Adjiriganor, Tseaddo, Klagon, and surrounding industrial zones.

Substantial interruptions are also impacting the Ashanti Region—including Bekwai Township, Dominase, and surrounding districts—alongside localized maintenance outages in the Central and Volta Regions.

Utility officials have advised residents and commercial operators within the designated zones to unplug sensitive electronic devices during the maintenance window to prevent potential damage when power is restored to the grid.
