Member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency, Kwabena Boateng, has expressed deep frustration over what he describes as a difficult political battle that could threaten his bid to secure another term in Parliament.
In a now-deleted Facebook post on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, sighted by Metro TV, the Ejisu legislator appeared to suggest he is under intense pressure within the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), following internal party dynamics stemming from the party’s recent presidential primaries.
“Looking at what is being done to me now, I may or may not succeed in the fight to secure my next term in Parliament,” he wrote.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his political future, Kwabena Boateng maintained that he has remained loyal to the party and acted in good faith throughout his political career.
“But whatever happens to me, I know I served my dear NPP well with my gift and strength. The good thing is that I did nothing wrong. It’s so sad but I’m helpless,” he added.

The development is believed to be linked to the tough-talking MP’s open support for businessman and politician, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, during the NPP’s presidential primaries.
Kwabena Boateng was vocal in his criticism of former Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia, who eventually emerged victorious in the closely contested race.
His campaign rhetoric, which strongly favoured Kennedy Agyapong, is said to have unsettled elements within Dr Bawumia’s camp.
Sources within the party suggest that following Dr Bawumia’s victory, efforts may be underway by some party figures to challenge Kwabena Boateng’s position in the Ejisu constituency by backing an alternative candidate in the upcoming parliamentary primaries.
