The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission has cautioned the public against enrolling in or relying on certificates issued by 70 institutions that it says are currently not recognised in Ghana due to various quality assurance concerns.

In a public notice dated May 28, 2026, the Commission urged prospective students, employers, and the public to exercise due diligence when dealing with qualifications issued by the listed institutions.

According to GTEC, the institutions are not recognised by the Commission, and certificates awarded by them may not be accepted for academic, professional, or employment purposes in Ghana.

“The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) wishes to inform the public that the institutions listed below are currently not recognised by the Commission due to various quality assurance concerns.

Accordingly, the public is advised to exercise due diligence with regard to any certificates issued by these institutions,” the notice stated.
