The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that the list of shortlisted applicants in its ongoing recruitment exercise will be published on July 20, 2026, with successful candidates expected to assume duty on August 31, 2026.

According to a statement signed by Professor Smile Dzisi, Deputy Director‑General in Charge of Management Services, the recruitment process is aimed at filling 7,000 licensed teacher positions across the country. The application window opened on April 10, 2026 and was scheduled to close on April 17, 2026, but the portal was shut down in less than 24 hours after receiving over 40,000 applications.

GES indicated that all applications are currently being reviewed to ensure compliance with eligibility requirements, with the process expected to be completed by June 30, 2026. The shortlisted names will then be published on July 20, 2026, followed by an on‑boarding exercise at regional and district levels between July 20 and August 31, 2026. Successful applicants are expected to report for duty on August 31, 2026.

Management expressed appreciation to all applicants for their patience and interest in contributing to national development, assuring that the recruitment exercise is being conducted transparently and fairly.
