The Minority in Parliament has called for stronger maritime security measures and enhanced protection for Ghanaian citizens living abroad, particularly those working in the Gulf region.

The Minority in Parliament has called for stronger maritime security measures and enhanced protection for Ghanaian citizens living abroad, particularly those working in the Gulf region.

“These incidents raise serious questions about the adequacy of Ghana’s maritime security architecture,” the statement said.

The caucus therefore urged the government to provide Parliament with full disclosure regarding the attacks, including the circumstances under which they occurred and the identities of those responsible.

“Any failure in this domain must be treated as a matter of the highest national urgency,” the Minority said.

The statement also extended solidarity to Ghanaians living and working in the Gulf region amid ongoing instability in parts of the Middle East.

“Our thoughts extend to compatriots living and working in the Gulf region, thousands of whom face growing insecurity as conflict continues across parts of the Middle East,” the Minority said, urging the government to ensure that diplomatic missions provide timely consular support and evacuation assistance where necessary.
