Former Presidential Staffer Dennis Miracles Aboagye has accused Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson of selfishness and an obsession with control, sharpening partisan tensions and echoing growing unease within government circles.
In a sharp rebuke during a media engagement, Aboagye alleged that Forson’s leadership style is driven more by personal ambition than collective interest. “Ato Forson is selfish; he wants to control everything,” he charged.
The accusation comes against the backdrop of a recent spat between the Finance Minister and the Minister of Food and Agriculture, which exposed cracks within the administration. The disagreement centered on budgetary allocations and policy direction for the agricultural sector, with Forson accused of tightening his grip on responsibilities that traditionally fell outside the Finance Ministry’s purview.
Concerns have also been raised about Forson’s assertive control over agencies such as SSNIT and his direct involvement in dealings with the World Bank, areas previously managed with greater autonomy. This consolidation of power has reportedly left some colleague ministers sorely unhappy, fueling perceptions that Forson is centralizing authority at the expense of collaboration.
Miracles Aboagye’s attack dovetails with these internal tensions, painting Forson as both a powerful figure in economic management and a divisive presence among his peers.
