NDC journalist cries out over neglect; says he will join pro-NPP station if offered big money

Popular Ghanaian broadcast journalist and outspoken sympathizer of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Oheneba Boamah Bennie, has voiced his frustration over what he describes as neglect by the party he has long supported.

Speaking passionately during a broadcast on TV XYZ, Oheneba Boamah likened his role in the media to that of a professional footballer, emphasizing that loyalty has its limits when survival and well-being are at stake.

“As long as I am a media personality, I am like a football player. If I play in your team and I am not happy, I will go to another team which is your opponent and play there and take good money,” he said.

He expressed disappointment in the NDC government, accusing it of treating him as an outsider despite his vocal advocacy. According to him, he expected better recognition and support from a government he consistently defended, especially during its time in opposition.

Oheneba hinted at the possibility of switching allegiance if a better opportunity arises, even if it comes from a media outlet aligned with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). He specifically mentioned Wontumi TV/Radio and Asaase Radio as potential destinations, should they make an enticing offer.

“So one day, if any of the NPP media houses scattered around like Asaase Radio or Wontumi TV/Radio approach me with big money and the deal is good, I will move from TV XYZ with alacrity,” he declared. “I have a wife and kids to feed.”

The journalist expressed his frustration over what he sees as a lack of appreciation from the NDC, questioning how he is expected to continue sacrificing while struggling financially.

“If I came here to work and make you happy and I leave for home and my wife and I eat gari to sleep, we are not living a life. Living life is when I get home and my wife and children are also happy.”

He ended his remarks with a veiled warning to the party, saying, “You guys should keep playing, we will meet on the desert,” indicating that consequences may follow if his concerns are not addressed.

Is everything okay with our Oheneba Boamah??
