No need to replace Bawumia as NPP Flagbearer – Nana Akomea

A leading member of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team, Nana Akomea, says there is no reason for the New Patriotic Party to replace the Vice President as its flagbearer, arguing that his record and experience make him the best choice to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.

Speaking at Yeji in the Pru East constituency during the second day of Dr. Bawumia’s Our Journey Together tour of the Bono East Region, the former Okaikoi South MP said the Vice President’s eight years of service in government, including several occasions acting as President, set him apart from the other four contenders in the race.

“Dr. Bawumia has served Ghana at the highest level for eight years and has stepped in as President multiple times. None of the other aspirants can match that level of experience,” Akomea told party supporters.

He urged members of the NPP to rally behind Dr. Bawumia, describing him as the candidate best placed to build on the party’s achievements and secure victory in 2028.
