Former Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, last week, delivered a powerful speech in Accra when he met former MMDCEs.

Bawumia’s speech which touched on his quest to transform the New Patriotic Party and the nation through his vision, left many people with a lasting thought-provoking quote.

With some of the NPP’s flagbearer hopefuls parading themselves as rich businessmen, Bawumia delivered a poignant quote when he told the former MMDCEs that “I am not a rich man but God has blessed me with rich ideas”.

The quote has since gone viral on both traditional and social media.

They listed several policies by Dr Bawumia which they said the immediate past NPP government implemented and made positive impact on the nation.

Below are the 33 Bawumia’s rich ideas which have gone viral since his address:1. Agenda 111 hospitals for districts without district hospitals.

2. One Constituency, One Ambulance

3. Bank of Ghana Gold Purchasing Programme and the Gold for Forex Programme.

4. Gold for Oil Policy

5. Expedited issuance of Ghanacard

6. Issuance of Ghanacard numbers to new born babies.

7. Designation of Ghanacard number as Ghana’s Tax Identification Number, Social Security Number and National Health Insurance Number.

8. Digital Property Address System for Ghana.

9. Zipline medical drones

10. Mobile money interoperability

11. Ghanapay Payment System

12. Paperless Ports

13. National E-pharmacy

14. Digitalisation of DVLA system

15. NHIS membership and registration and renewal through mobile phone

16. Digitalisation of medical records and networking of hospitals

17. Digitalisation of revenue collection by the Ghana Revenue Authority

18. Motor insurance database

19. Universal QR Code Payment System

20. E-gates at Kotoka International Airport

21. Abolishing the filling of landing and departure forms for travellers at airport

22. Zongo Development Fund

23. Ghana.Gov platform

24. Citizens app data interoperability

25. Individualised credit scoring system

26. Introduction of electric buses for public transport with a Tap & Go payment system

27. Automation of pre mix fuel distribution

28. Digitalisation of revenue collection by ECG

Bawumia’s supporters, who widely shared his impactful policy contributions to the Akufo-Addo government, reiterated that he is the most effective Vice President in Ghana’s history, adding that none of those contesting him can match his record of practical public service.
