The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has announced that the party will begin member registration for its internal elections from March 1 to March 31, 2026, as part of a comprehensive timeline approved by the party’s National Council.

Speaking during a press conference at the party’s headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra on Wednesday, February 18, Mr. Kodua said the registration exercise marks the official start of the NPP’s internal electoral processes ahead of its nationwide polls.

He explained that the timelines and guidelines were first considered by the party’s Steering Committee and subsequently approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC), before receiving final approval from the National Council.

According to him, the March 1 to March 31, 2026 exercise will cover the continuation of the registration of members at the various polling stations across the country.

He recalled that in November 2025, a memo was issued to constituency and regional executives to begin the registration process and organise polling station meetings.

Following the registration phase, data entry of registered members will take place from April 1 to April 15, 2026.

This will be followed by a verification exercise scheduled for April 14 to April 16, 2026, to validate the membership register before the commencement of elections.

Mr. Kodua noted that once the verification process is completed, the party will proceed to open nominations for polling station elections, in line with the approved internal election guidelines.
