NPP’s 2028 comeback depends on Bawumia – Ibrahim Bashiru

Former Deputy CEO of the Youth Employment Agency, Alhaji Ibrahim Bashiru, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rally behind former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the party’s best bet of regaining power in the 2028 general elections.

Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News, Alhaji Bashiru described Dr. Bawumia as a humble, competent, and emotionally intelligent leader whose track record in both political and public service positions him as the ideal candidate for the presidency. He emphasised that among all potential contenders, Dr. Bawumia stands out as the most prepared and visionary figure to lead the party into the future.“If the NPP really wants power in 2028, we don’t have to look left or right. We have to look straight and see the face of a very humble man.

Somebody who has demonstrated beyond a reasonable doubt both in political life and in public life that he is a very oriented person and that he is somebody who has a consistent emotional intelligence; very calm, has innovative ideas and is very well prepared for the presidency. I do not see that in anybody’s face. I see that in the face of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” he stated.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia is the only candidate who will be accepted by voters even outside the party.
