President John Mahama has directed the immediate termination of all contracts between the Government of Ghana and Strategic Mobilization Ghana Limited (SML) following the conclusion of investigations by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

The directive, issued through a letter signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, and addressed to the Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, instructed that all existing agreements with SML be promptly ended.

According to the letter, the decision underscores the government’s renewed commitment to accountability and transparency in the management of public funds.

The move follows months of public scrutiny and an in-depth probe by the OSP into alleged corruption and related offences surrounding the SML contracts.

President Mahama further tasked the Finance Minister to ensure that the termination process is conducted in strict accordance with established financial and legal protocols.
