Awal Mohammed, a member of New Patriotic Party communications team has criticized the ruling government for failing to complete the Agenda 111 Hospitals initiated by the previous government.
According to him, one of the Agenda 111 Hospital which is at the roofing level has now been turned into mechanic shop.
During a discussion on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show hosted by Moro Awudu, he said, “As I speak today, there is no single Agenda 111 hospital that a contractor is on with 100 million budgeted.”
He further claimed that a site in Asokore Mampong, which was expected to host the hospital project, had been abandoned and now used as a mechanic shop.
“If you have a district like Asokore Mampong, let me use that place as an example.” He said
“We do not even have a polyclinic. We started Agenda 111. It’s just at the roofing stage. Today, as I speak, the place is a mechanic shop for heavy duty vehicles.” Awal said on Metro TV
He also criticized recruitment and implementation processes under the new health initiative, arguing that political considerations were influencing staffing decisions.
Speaking on nurses postings, Awal Mohammed said, “Today, the government is doing something that I believe that he is trying to recruit NDC paid executives. It has never happened in the history of this country that they don’t do automatic posting. The postings they are doing is competitive selection.”
