Boakye Agyarko Names Henry Quartey Campaign Manager and Joe Wise Senior Advisor in NPP National Chairmanship Bid

National Chairman aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Kyeremanten Agyarko, has assembled a high-powered campaign team as the race for the party’s top position intensifies.

In a strategic move, Boakye Agyarko has appointed former Ayawaso Central MP Hon. Henry Quartey as his Campaign Manager and former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu (popularly known as Joe Wise), as Senior Campaign Advisor.

The appointments were announced on Thursday as part of efforts to strengthen his bid ahead of the NPP’s internal elections.

Henry Quartey, a seasoned politician with deep roots in the Greater Accra Region, brings extensive grassroots mobilisation experience to the team. Joe Wise, respected for his legislative expertise and neutral stance within the party, is expected to provide strategic guidance and help broaden the aspirant’s appeal across different factions.

Boakye Agyarko, a former Minister of Energy, has positioned himself as a unifying figure capable of rebuilding the NPP into a stronger, more cohesive “election-winning machine” following the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections.

His campaign is expected to focus on party rebuilding, internal unity, organisational reform, and effective grassroots engagement.

The race for NPP National Chairman is shaping up to be competitive, with several prominent figures showing interest or already in the running. Boakye Agyarko’s decision to bring on board two heavyweight politicians signals his seriousness and determination to mount a formidable challenge.

Party insiders say the appointments could give Boakye Agyarko a significant boost, especially in the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions where both appointees command considerable respect.

The NPP is expected to open nominations for national executive positions soon, with the election slated for later in 2026.
