Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach Abdul Karim Zito says he expected more from his players than what they delivered in a loss to Wydad Athletic Club from Morocco.

Kotoko lost 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup second round in a game that had Kotoko goal keeper Mohammed Camara sent off in the second half.

The Porcupine Warriors take on Wydad in the return leg on Friday, October 24 in Morocco and speaking after the game, Karim Zito wasn’t impressed with the output of his boys.

“I am [about to] now go into their psyche and see why they played the way they did because it’s not too bad [the performance] but this wasn’t what I was expecting from them. We did a lot [of work] and they rested a lot” Karim Zito said.

Kotoko beat Nigeria’s Kwara United 5-3 on aggregate to qualify from the first round.
