JUST IN: Sports Ministry Demands Apology from Multimedia Over False Quote

The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has called out the Multimedia Group over what it describes as a false and misleading publication wrongly attributed to Minister Kofi Iddie Adams, demanding an immediate withdrawal and public apology.

The disputed report, circulated across Adom TV, Adom Online, Asempa FM, and other Multimedia platforms, claimed the Minister said:

“I will be involved in Black Stars World Cup call-ups, and selections will depend purely on merit and performance.”

In a statement dated October 14, 2025, the Ministry dismissed the publication as “fabricated and misleading,” insisting the Minister never made such remarks during his appearance on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show or any other interview.

Officials accused the network of a pattern of misquoting and distortion, saying such actions taint public perception, stir needless controversy, and undermine the Ministry’s credibility.

The Ministry has therefore directed Multimedia to:

  • Withdraw all content containing the false attribution.
  • Issue a public apology on all platforms where the misinformation appeared.

While reaffirming its commitment to media openness and accountability, the Ministry cautioned that it will not tolerate the publication of falsehoods that damage its image or mislead the Ghanaian public.
