Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus is closing in on a return to full training following a prolonged injury layoff.

The twenty-five-year-old midfielder has been sidelined since suffering a severe quadriceps injury during Tottenham’s Premier League fixture against Sunderland in January, with a subsequent rehabilitation setback delaying his recovery and ruling him out for the remainder of the season and Ghana’s World Cup campaign.

Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s pre-season friendly against Auckland FC, De Zerbi stated that the attacker is nearing full recovery and is scheduled to rejoin first-team training once the squad returns to London from its pre-season tour of New Zealand and Australia.

The Italian manager emphasized the significance of Kudus’ imminent comeback, describing the versatile midfielder as a critical component of his tactical plans as the club prepares for the upcoming campaign.
