The main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has slightly increased its share of declared party supporters in the Ashanti Region, while support for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has fallen sharply, according to new polling data released by Global InfoAnalytics.
The survey, conducted in June and compared with data from March, showed NDC affiliation in the Ashanti Region dropping from 30 percent to 18 percent, a decline of 12 percentage points.

NPP affiliation rose from 34 percent to 37 percent over the same period, strengthening its position in a region widely regarded as the party’s political stronghold.
The proportion of voters identifying as floating voters remained unchanged at 23 percent, while support for smaller political parties increased from 4 percent to 6 percent.
The most significant shift was among respondents who declined to disclose a political affiliation. That category rose from 9 percent in March to 16 percent in June, making it the second-largest group behind the NPP.
The findings suggest that while the NPP has maintained and slightly expanded its base in the Ashanti Region, a growing share of voters are either undecided or unwilling to publicly identify with a political party.
