The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has decided to make the Director of Communications of the party position an elected one, not by appointment. This, the party believes, will allow the grassroots to choose who they think can best communicate on their behalf.

This is one of the new proposals that has been endorsed during the National Delegates Conference in Accra on Saturday, July 19.

The party believes the appointment of the Director of Communications was fraught with favouritism, leading to problems among the communicators hence the decision to make the chnages.

However, Deputy Communications Dircetors shall remain in an appointed position.
