The National Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formed an Ad-Hoc Committee to ensure a fair and respectful campaign ahead of the party’s presidential primaries on January 31, 2026.

In a statement dated September 15, 2025, Chairman Hackman Owusu-Agyemang said the committee will “monitor the comments, actions, and conduct of all aspirants and their followers” and review petitions related to hate speech and misconduct.

“The Party remains committed to conducting a peaceful, respectful, and dignified primary process that strengthens our unity and readiness for the national elections,” the statement emphasized.

The committee is chaired by Ing. Dr. Kwasi Abeasi, with Dr. Alex Glover-Quartey, Ato Hamilton, Kwadwo Afari, and Mark Opoku as members.

Aspirants and their teams have been urged to cooperate fully.
