ACCRA— In a significant shift in its electoral guidelines, the national leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially authorized internal political aspirants to pick up official nomination forms without presenting immediate proof of payment.

The structural directive, announced by the General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Frimpong Kodua, aims to streamline the initial stages of the party’s internal nomination processes and eliminate early administrative friction for prospective candidates looking to contest various executive portfolios. Under the updated regulations outlined by Mr. Kodua, while aspirants are permitted to collect the physical nomination documents freely at designated party offices, they will be strictly required to provide full verification and definitive proof of the mandatory registration and processing fees at the point of final submission.

Mr. Kodua explained that the decision was taken by the national executive body to foster maximum inclusivity and prevent logistical or banking delays from impeding qualified party members from entering internal races. The General Secretary emphasized that the temporary waiver does not constitute a free process, reiterating that any nomination file returned without complete financial clearance and verified bank receipts by the official closing deadline will be automatically disqualified and rejected by the vetting committee.
