Titus Glover calls out Naa Koryoo over “false claims” against Hawa Koomson

Former Greater Accra Regional Minister Nii Kwartei Titus Glover has accused the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, of spreading falsehoods about her predecessor, Mavis Hawa Koomson.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana with Moro Awudu, Mr Glover said recent statements from the Interior Minister revealed that Naa Koryoo Okunor was not present when violence broke out during the 2024 elections in the Awutu Senya East constituency, an incident that led to one death.

“She was not there when the unfortunate incident happened,” Mr Glover said.

“At the time she claimed she was being followed by Hawa Koomson’s people and that her vehicle was shot at, she wasn’t even around. It is unfortunate someone lost their life, but she was not at the scene.”

Mr Glover said he found it troubling that the MP had made dramatic claims about being targeted, adding that “you cannot lie in that chamber because one day you will be exposed.”

He also drew parallels to a recent incident at Ablekuma North, where Hawa Koomson was nearly attacked by a mob. “Look at how Hawa was nearly lynched for something she didn’t do,” he said. “This is why truth matters.”

Mr Glover, who served as a Member of Parliament and Deputy Ranking Member for Trade, said his experience in Parliament taught him that integrity and honesty are essential to maintaining public trust.

“I’ve been there for eight years,” he said. “I have distinguished myself, and I know one thing for sure, the truth always comes out.”
