Before joining the Statistical Service, Annim was an associate professor at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), where he worked for over 18 years.

UNECA in an announcement, indicated it was a “pleasure” to have Annim on board as Director of the Africa Centre for Statistics (ACS) at the D-1 level,

Annim received a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom in 2010.
