Hearts of Oak edged FC Samartex 1-0 in a tense Matchday 16 encounter of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League on Friday, December 26.

Playing at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, the Phobians made a fast start and were rewarded when Hamza Issah struck early, a goal that ultimately proved decisive against the Timber Boys.

The narrow victory lifts Didi Dramani’s side to second place on the league table with 28 points, continuing a steady upturn in form. FC Samartex, meanwhile, drop to sixth with 24 points.

Hearts of Oak will look to build on their momentum when they travel to the TNA Park to face Medeama SC, while Samartex will aim for a quick response as they host Young Apostles at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex.
