Former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, together with several leading figures of the party, joined the Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, to mourn the passing of Maxwell Kofi Anti, popularly known as Kofi Nti, a former aide to the MP.
The one-week observation and funeral rites were held at Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region and attracted party faithful, family members, sympathizers, and well-wishers from across the constituency.
Dr. Bawumia, who had earlier expressed sadness over the sudden demise of Kofi Nti, visited the bereaved family to offer his condolences. He paid tribute to the deceased’s humility, dedication, and commitment to the NPP, particularly his contributions to Information Technology (IT) activities within the Akyem Oda Constituency.
According to Dr. Bawumia, Kofi Nti died in a tragic road accident while monitoring the ongoing NPP polling station executive elections, a responsibility he had undertaken in service to the party.
Speaking on behalf of the constituency, the Akyem Oda NPP Constituency Organizer, David Okyere, popularly known as Okyeman, described the late Kofi Nti as a hardworking, loyal, and devoted party member whose contributions significantly advanced the party’s activities and growth in the constituency.
“He served the party diligently in various capacities and will be greatly missed by party faithful and the entire Akyem Oda community,” he stated.
Family members, party executives, supporters, and sympathizers attended the observation to honour the memory of the deceased and offer support to his grieving family during this difficult period.

Several NPP executives and party faithful also shared fond memories of Kofi Nti, describing him as a committed grassroots mobilizer and a dependable party activist. They offered prayers for his soul and asked God to grant him eternal rest.
The passing of Maxwell Kofi Anti has left a significant void within the Akyem Oda NPP fraternity, where he was widely respected for his dedication, loyalty, and service to both the party and the constituency.
