All 12 Electoral Area Coordinators of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Damongo Constituency have declared their support for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the party’s flagbearer race.

The endorsement was announced during Dr. Bawumia’s campaign tour of the Savannah Region, where the coordinators described him as the most suitable candidate to lead the party into the 2026 general elections.

With the backing of the Member of Parliament for Damongo, Samuel Abu Jinapor, the coordinators said their decision was informed by Dr Bawumia’s leadership record, policy ideas, and strong connection with the party’s grassroots.

“The simplest message we are putting before you is that we, the 12 Electoral Area Coordinators, with the support of our MP, Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor, are declaring our unflinching support for you,” they said.

They added that Dr Bawumia would receive “100 per cent” of the votes from the constituency in the flagbearer election scheduled for January 31, 2026.

Jinapor was also praised for his role in strengthening party structures in the constituency and fostering unity among polling station and electoral area leaders.

The endorsement from Damongo is seen as a boost to Dr Bawumia’s campaign as the former vice president continues to record support from party grassroots across the country.
