Ghanaian music duo DopeNation have paid a courtesy call on Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, president of the Ghana Football Association, as part of efforts to support the country’s campaign toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The twin brothers announced the visit in a social media post on Tuesday, saying they met the football chief on Monday to explore ways of strengthening collaboration between Ghana’s music and sports industries.
According to the group, discussions focused on leveraging entertainment to galvanise public support for the Black Stars ahead of the global tournament.
“We paid a courtesy visit to the president of the Ghana Football Association… ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup,” the duo said.
“As part of our vision to supporting the cause, we expressed our gratitude… and further discussed possible avenues for a partnership, merging Ghana music with Ghana football.”
The pair, whose song “Kakalika” is gaining traction internationally, said the meeting ended on a light-hearted note, referencing the GFA president’s “Swingi ma me” moment.
The visit underscores a growing trend of collaboration between Ghana’s creative arts sector and football administration, with musicians increasingly aligning with national team activities to boost morale and fan engagement ahead of major competitions.
Ghana is aiming to secure a strong showing at the expanded 2026 World Cup, with stakeholders across sectors rallying support for the team.
