Stray animals disrupt lessons at DOPASS – SRC President

The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) President of Dodi-Papase Senior High Technical School (DOPASS), Musah Osman, has raised concerns about stray animals invading classrooms and disrupting lessons.

He said the animals also “visit the dining hall to dine with us,” creating distractions for both students and staff.

Master Musah made the remarks during the grand durbar marking the school’s SRC Week celebration at Dodi-Papase in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region.

“As such, students have to abandon their studies to drive away these animals from the classrooms, dormitories and even offices,” he added.

He appealed to Nananom to advise residents in the surrounding community to keep their animals under control to prevent them from interfering with teaching and learning.

“I am therefore making this special appeal to Nananom to admonish the inhabitants of the immediate settlement around the school, and the community as a whole, to keep watch over their animals so that they do not come to disrupt teaching and learning,” he said.

Despite infrastructure challenges and inadequate teaching and learning materials, Master Musah noted that students of the school performed creditably in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Out of the 164 candidates presented for the examination, 163 obtained aggregates between A1 and E8, representing 99.39 per cent.

The week-long celebration was held on the theme: “Empowering SRC, Empowering Ghana: Nurturing Leaders of Tomorrow.”

At the climax of the event, Miss Mary Dzogbevu and Master Fazazi Ibrahim were crowned Ms and Mr DOPASS 2026 and presented with a crown and a golden belt, respectively, while other students received certificates in recognition of their hard work and dedication.
