ABLEKUMA WEST NPP CONSTITUENCY EXECUTIVE ELECTIONS POSTPONED INDEFINITELY OVER REGISTER DISPUTE

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency executive elections in the Ablekuma West constituency have been postponed indefinitely following widespread disagreements among aspirants and delegates regarding the authenticity of the official photo album and voter register.

The decision to suspend the poll was reached after an emergency meeting between the regional electoral committee, national party representatives, and local stakeholders in Dansoman, where contestants raised concerns over missing names and alleged unauthorized additions to the delegate list.

Several key aspirants insisted that the album presented for the election differed significantly from the validated list compiled during the branch-level elections, warning that proceeding under disputed conditions would compromise the legitimacy of the outcome.

To prevent escalating tensions and maintain public order at the voting venue, security personnel and party election officials resolved to halt proceedings to allow the national executive committee to review the disputed register and reconcile the delegate figures.

Party leadership urged aspirants and local supporters to remain calm while a dedicated committee works to clean the album and establish a revised date for the polls.
